Meet Lindsay Seguin, the Product Copy Team Lead at Kit + Ace in Vancouver, who is registered for our fall part-time Digital Marketing course. Lindsay will be joining us at our Yaletown campus one a week for 12 weeks to learn how to build a successful digital marketing campaign from the ground up. Here is her story.
As a copywriter, my work is incredibly intertwined with digital marketing teams, SEO specialists, graphic and UX designers. Working on these cross-functional teams involves tackling creative briefs together and considering both the analytical motivations behind our approach as well as the creative direction necessary to reach a successful end product.
The motivation to expand my knowledge base at BrainStation was two-fold; first – to improve my communication with cross-functional teams, and second – to develop my own ability to steer the direction of the messages that I craft.
Understanding the ins and outs of the fast-changing world of digital marketing takes my technical and creative skills as a copywriter to the next level of applicability for targeted message dissemination, product and brand positioning, and market segmentation. The ability to craft messages and to know how, where, and when to send them out is a powerful combination. It’s one thing to come up with a compelling idea, it’s another to know how to reach your audience with this message in the most effective way.
