What course are you enrolled in for this cohort and what made you decide to take it?
I’m enrolled in the Digital Marketing course. I have a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from McGill University and, right now, I am the Volunteer Recruitment Marketing Strategist at the Canadian Cancer Society in Vancouver.
How did you hear about the program?
I found out about BrainStation after visiting WorkBC. Then, I decided to attend a few workshops and I met a few of the BrainStation team members who gave me more details about the program.
What are you most excited to learn?
I’m most excited to apply what I am going to learn in email marketing, brand building, digital campaigns, analytics, social media, and others in real-life situations at work. I love to be practical and learn to continue expanding my knowledge and expertise.
If you had to pick a favourite tech company doing awesome things – who would it be and why?
I am passionate about creating my own tech company, but LinkedIn is a global tech company that allows everyone to connect with professionals in different industries. It is a great tool to build your network and highlight your skills and experiences.
Favourite spot to spend an afternoon in the city?
Walking at the UBC campus, going to the beach, and having my dinner with my family.
How do you plan on applying your newfound skills, personally and/or professionally?
I am going to volunteer in the field and start my professional marketing career in a well-known tech company. I’m also working on a big project for my family in the field of dentistry and education that will create BIG benefits in the near future.
