Another week has come and gone at BrainStation in the User Interface Design course, and I’m continually impressed by the level of hospitality I receive as a student here! Let me explain…

First, each time I walk through the big glass front doors off of Spadina Street to enter BrainStation, there is always someone there to greet me. The staff members who work the front desk always make a point to say hello and ask me how my day is going – a rare gesture these days! To me, this is the ‘above and beyond’ stuff that sticks in my mind.

Second, my teacher was willing to meet with me outside of class hours. Due to me missing a class for work, I fell a bit behind in the homework assignments for the week. Although I had spent some time reviewing the lecture notes and trying to complete the homework assignment, I still felt as though I had a few questions that needed answers before next class. I was easily able to contact our teacher, and we set up a time to meet on the weekend so that we could review some of the material. I was so appreciative that we were able to do this, because it allowed me to ensure I was caught up before moving on.

Finally, the e-mail support when I have general BrainStation questions is so timely and informative. As a current student, I’m taking advantage of free evening workshops to further my learning experience as a student here! The support staff have helped me to sign up for events and workshops that interest me, and answer any other questions I have related to getting more involved with BrainStation. A+ for the hospitable attitudes of all BrainStation staff!

I’m looking forward to another week in User Interface Design.
