Unit 1 of my Visual Design Course with BrainStation is complete! I am officially a part-time student once again, and couldn’t be more excited.

Some quick notes that I want to share;

  • The staff at BrainStation are incredibly friendly and welcoming – we were all greeted with smiling staff, given a full tour of the building, and provided with a delicious Italian dinner. They go above and beyond to make you feel right at home.
  • The learning environment is beautiful – I had not yet seen the building since it was remodelled and WOW, it’s a perfect atmosphere! I feel very inspired by our surroundings.
  • My classmates all come from different backgrounds, which will create a really neat dynamic. Though everyone has their own reasoning for taking Visual Design, we can all support each other along the way.
  • I have a LOT to learn, and am starting at square one – luckily the instructors are sympathetic to this and started with the very basics to get us up to speed. We even had a prep-course before Unit 1 which helped immensely with getting familiarized in PhotoShop.

Have I mentioned that I’m stoked to be back in the student groove? Hopefully I’m still smiling after this week’s assignment 😉
