When I look back on my 10 week long introduction to web development, one of the thing’s that stands out the most to me is the amount of material I have learned in such a short period of time. It’s amazing the difference that passionate teachers, an innovative teaching style, and interesting material can make in an educational experience.

If there is one thing that has been confirmed for me, it’s how intertwined my life is with the material presented in this course. Every time I check my email, browse the Internet, watch a show on Netflix, scroll through the various apps on my phone, or even mark a date in my digital calendar, I am staring at code someone else has written. I couldn’t escape it if I tried. My goal in taking this course was to familiarize myself with the fundamentals of Web Development, and I can confidently say BrainStation’s Intro to Web Development Course has exceeded my expectations. The ability to look at web pages from an enlightened perspective has not only helped me develop an appreciation for exceptional web page structure and design, but it has also made it much easier to pin-point problems with many of the more poorly designed webpages I use in my daily life (some of which I rely on).

It’s exciting to think about all of the things I will be able to do as I continue to develop this new skill, and the potential doors this will unlock for me. It feels great to add another tool to the tool belt and I can’t thank Dan, Vivek, and Raymond enough for making this one of the most enjoyable learning experiences I have ever had.
