Welcome to week 6 & 7 – introducing our good friends SEM and SEO. Yes, everyone knows what these terms stand for, but what do they really mean for your business? And how do you put them into action? It’s time to dig in, put on your techy hat, become a Facebook ads guru and a Google Certified Partner. Why didn’t I do this back in 2010 when these videos were made? To be honest it’s because I didn’t even know they existed. We’ve spent the last two classes digging deep into Facebook Advertising & Google Analytics and I feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface. Some offsite was, and is, required. I’ve been learning a ton about what I “should have” done for Beach Travellers way back when. But that’s why I’m here right? I’m already yielding great results from what we’ve learned.
Even if I knew this Google Certification training was around way back when, I wouldn’t have had the confidence or dedication to put myself through the GA Academy. A good 1012 hours of studying and practice exams and I’m just about to take the final test. One thing I’ve noted and appreciated several times, is that BrainStation educators work in the industry. Their examples are from that day at work. “Today at Herschel I was working on exactly what we’re discussing here and this is why it’s important.” Working side by side with analytics and AdWords wizards! Next up, taking The Google Analytics IQ Exam. It’s about three hours long and you need to score over 80% to pass. Wish me luck!
