When it comes to digital marketing, Four Seasons is leading the pack in the hotel industry...but it wasn't always that way.
This month, we had the chance to sit down with Zoe Pawlak, a contemporary artist and designer, working with interior designers, private clients, and select retail locations. Read on to hear more about Zoe!
Tell us a bit about your background. How did it lead to you pursuing a career in art?
I went to an art high school + art university. Becoming an entrepreneur in addition to this training was the most exciting combination to me, looking at my artwork as a business, as well as an emotionally fulfilling pursuit.
What are your biggest inspirations?
MIA, Diebenkorn, the rap music, Frieda Khalo, fellow entrepreneurs, and friends.
What have you found to be the most successful marketing tactic to build the brand?
I love Instagram. My clients not only love to see shots of my studio and personal life, but also the process. I have been able to build my story in a really authentic way through IG.
You have been featured in some amazing publications what would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?
When I was younger, being asked to be in MSL was a great honour. Now, I’m thrilled when I’m featured in highart or design publications. Peer-reviewed publications are the most exciting, these days.
Do you have any daily habits that aid in your creativity?
I listen to a lot of music. It gets me though, and helps the energy flow. I write and pray daily. I have recently reintroduced exercise. Oh, the sweet mental health it brings!
You work in a few different mediums? Do you have a favourite?
I love variety. I love painting, it’s sensuous and powerful. Drawing’s tender and smart, so I love that. I love working between mediums, contrast helps me to appreciate each one for their differences.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in the arts?
Make great work. Price it low till it sells out. Use that money to make more art. Journal daily. Where are you going? Then work hard to get there.
What’s your favourite part of you job?
I love my new, Montreal staff. It’s been exciting to watch people grow into their roles and shine! It’s wonderful to do my job well and see the people on my team thriving and happy.
