Thank you to everyone who came out last night to our first Instagram Panel discussion, #InstaMeetTO. It was a great night with an amazing turn out, despite it being a cold and snowy January evening!
Five expert panelists from different backgrounds came together to share their insights, experiences, ideas, and opinions on Instagram, and to answer questions about how to create and engage effectively with your community. We covered a lot of content last night; here is an example of some topics that were addressed:
How do you deal with originality and authenticity in an era where there are millions of Instagram accounts and everyone seems to capture the perfect picture of their latte?
What kind of metrics or tracking tools do you use to assess for audience engagement?
How do you engage with your community? How important is engagement to your brand? What other metrics do you look at to measure your success?
What cameras and apps do you use to create the perfect picture? Most importantly, how do you choose and curate the content that best describes you, your passion, or your brand?
What is your advice on building a personal or professional brand from scratch?
BrainStation and attendees live tweeted from the panel – check out #InstaMeetTO on Twitter to find out what our panelists had to say.
Although each panelist had their own individual perspective and experience using Instagram, they did agree on some common themes – It’s important to put thought into your work, create quality content, and have a clear plan for what you want to be communicating and sharing with your audience. That being said, the great part of being social is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Instagram is a community of real people – comment, connect with other accounts that inspire you, and most importantly, be as authentic and genuine as possible, and express & share what you are truly passionate about.
Thanks to all of our panelists for sharing their insights and expertise!
