Click here to learn more about BrainStation’s User Experience Design Course.

I’ve been interested in UX design for a while and had my first introduction to it while taking a graphic design program. We mainly discussed wireframing for website design and had a segment on user interface design for mobile apps.

I started to attend some local events and did my research online to see if this is something that I would be interested in moving towards. My career background has always been focused on people, either clients or customers. It became apparent to me that user experience design would be a good a fit.

After my choice to attend BrainStation over the summer, I couldn’t wait to get started. I was looking forward to meeting my instructors, as they would be industry professionals and would be a great insight into my next chapter. I was looking forward to meeting my fellow students and getting to collaborate on ideas and class work.

Our major project was what we would work on as we were progressing through the curriculum and was a great way to learn the course concepts. Our instructors were amazing and really good about answering our many questions as well as giving great feedback on our project. I came across this really funny comic that pretty much summed up where I initially started with on my project and where I ended up.

The 10 weeks went by very by quickly and I do feel that I have a solid understanding of what UX is. I am excited to keep learning and at the advice of Sara and Stephen, there are opportunities for the chance to gain experience and develop a portfolio.

I am very happy with my time spent learning at BrainStation. I look forward to any future events or block parties as this is a great way to network and reconnect with past classmates and instructors.

Thank you for everything!
